03 motor in a 04.5

Will a 03 motor work in a 04.5 manual truck with 04.5 harness, ecm and software. I was thinking you have to flash the ecm to 03 software and go from there. I tried the search button, if you can find a post please share link.

YOU CAN NOT FLASH THE 04.5 ECM TO 03 AND STILL WORK WITH THE 04.5 HARNESS/TRUCK!!!!!

The pin-outs are different. Your gauges will be all jacked up, and it probably won't take throttle.

just drop the damn motor in the truck using the 04.5 harness/ecm/etc. and roll out

Sheid just confirmed on the phone to Brett what I've been telling you guys all along

Easy Forest i never said it wouldn'tbif. I just wanted to double check on it. I don't want any headaches are problems since its at the shop. You know how Brett's luck is on projects.
