I've only pulled in 8500lb classes here in Ky, and I plan on pulling at SDX in the work stock class. Last night I went to Hodgensville, Ky at the last minute, didn't take any wieght with me or anything. Thought it would be a good time to see if I can make 8k or not. The scales used usually wiegh a little heavy. I wieghed 8140lbs. So now I figure I need to loose about 150lbs to be able to make it in the show at Scheids. What have you guys been doing to reduce wieght? I noticed in the rules that it doesn't say the rear seats are mandatory, just the front. But I know just removing the rear seats won't be enough. I also concidered the factory step bars as well, and if I find the time, remove my B&W Goosed Neck plate. I have also already removed the factory hitch and bumper for a roll pan and a lighter reece hitch. Think that will be enough or do I need more?

You can get rid of the GN hitch, backseat, right side battery, step bars, spare tire.

Spare tires already gone too aswell as the jack and tire tool. I'd like to keep as much weight up front if at all possible. Thought about making a cheap and thin aluminum make shift flat bed for it.

that would be great! paint it black  if you know anyone that's good w/ an airbrush, you could have it painted with a patina to make it look like an old steel bed w/ rust, etc. :p

Justin you still have spare tire holder brace, door panels

, both airbags. Im sure you could find more. lol

Clean all the junk out of the interior, vacumn it real good. Take a big poop.

tail gate, back seat, consle , battery, heat shields on exhaust, and clean everything out, and run on 5 gallons of fuel in tank

Rat_03, I'll probably be doing all that this friday so I can Hang weight and make a half way decent pull this Friday in Corydon. But Scheids requires full interior except for the back seats. You pulling this Friday?

If you realy are determined, do what House did! Now thats a good and healthy way to be able to hang weight!

That GN hitch plate has to weigh a good amount. Do you have a bed mat? Battery is 30lbs. Center consol has to be at leas another 30. and who need step bars!?!?

go on the richard simmons diet.

Poor Bragg cant stand to loose much more, He aint no bigger than a fence post now...lol

Ive got it, Hey Bragg why dont you just let me pull it....:rockwoot:
Im just about a buck 25 soakn wet anyways...:hehe:.

Justin my truck weighs around 7750ish I don't have the back seat or the passenger side seat. Gooseneck hitch is removed, tailgate, bumper. Running around a 1/4 tank of fuel. Last year as scheids the scales were extremely on the heavy side. I barely made weight.

:hehe: I'll second the "big poop" take a laxative 5 hours before the pull. Put on your winter clothes and run on the treadmill. Dont drink any fluids for 24hrs before the pull:hehe:
In all seriousness definitely lose the tailgate and the gooseneck plate. Be sure to clean all the junk out of it. Take a battery out if you must. Be careful running on a low amount of fuel if you have a pickup tube in the tank.

Thanks Guys. I hear ya on the heavy scales Coal Train. Every Lowery Scale I've been on weighs heavy. I removed my GN hitch this morning. I would say it weighs every bit of 75lbs at least. Was a PITA by my self taking it out. Gonna start stripping interior and step bars tomorrow morning when I get off work, then load up and head to Corydon.

Well, after stripping the seats, and cleaning all my junk in the truck, I weighed everything. Got a grand total of about 340lbs!!! Left the step bars on cuzz the felt like only 5lbs or so. Thats the rear seats, pass. front seat, console, GN plate, and all the junk in the strorage compartments and doors.

What about taking all the chrome off? Wheel simulators? Bed rails? Bed liners?
