'04 No start. FCA?

My buddies 04 wouldn't start this morning. He said it started fine last night when he moved it in the driveway, then when he went to leave this morning nothing.

The rail pressure bypass valve is capped so thats not the issue. When I pulled the codes i got P0251 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control A. Can the FCA just die overnight and cause the truck to not start?:bang
 
Yep mine did once just driving down the road and once wouldnt start in the morning
 
one of the first things i tried was pulling the plug and still no start.
 
Then it is most likely not the fca. Have you checked the lift pump pressure? Its a common problem with the early 04s, that have the pump on the back of the fuel filter housing.
 
Is the inline filter still on it? Maybe its clogged? Have you checked pressure to the CP3?
 
Replaced the FAC still no start. After that it started throwing P0193 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Fail High. So we changed the Rail pressure sensor....still nothing. Then he tells me he is using his spare key so i put the usual key in the ignition and the damn thing starts right up.

I still think its strange that the computer would be throwing those codes
