Hey guys. I'm searching around for a Duramax and am unsure on which would be the better one to have. Not a fan of the new styles, especially the interior. To my understanding there are two versions for 06, the LLY & LBZ, and 07 is the LBZ. I've read that the late modle 06 LBZ ones are the better ones. Is there anything different between the 06 LBZ and 07 LBZ? Or are the 06 LLY & LBZ just as good, with the exception or the LBZ being abit more powerful. Thanks

the 2006 LLY is identical to the 2006/2007 LBZ.

Actually, the '06 LLY is rated at 310 HP and the LBZ is rated at 365 HP. There is quite a bit of difference in the intake manifold, among other things..the 2006 LLY is identical to the 2006/2007 LBZ.

Actually, the LBZ is rated at 360hp. Its physically the same as the 06 LLY (yes the 06 LLY was rated at 310hp)
Show me these intake manifold differences...........

Thanks. I was morealess wondering about the reliablity of the engine as in if there are any qurks to be concerned about getting one which was used. To my knowledge the pre LLY Duramaxs were the ones that were alittle more problem matic with injectors I think.
