06 Duramax prob.

2006 duramax started smoking (black). Changed air filter. did not help. Engine code came in later. Low fuel pressure was the code. Changed fuel filter.
Code came in again and no power. Code later cleared on its own, but stll blows black smoke when acceleration. Also has power loss

You need to get a scantool on it and check the Rail pressure. There are 2 reading Actual and Desired. They should be close in all cases. If they are then check your balance rates and see if they are in specification.

my did the same thing and it was a bad injector.
