Who is running one...specifically in a common rail. Thoughts and/or opinions?

Might be. The big stick comes in a 105 106 & 107 centerlines asking about the 107 specifically

Typically, most people go with the 105 or the 107. The 107 opens the exhaust valve at 123 degrees atdc and keeps it open until 0 TDC whereas the 105 opens the valve a few degrees later and then has a few more degrees of overlap.

The later opening of the exhaust on the 105 makes for more burn time/time with pressure on the piston, and the extra overlap helps with airflow scavenging at cruising speeds.

The 107 helps spool usually 50-75rpm because of the earlier opening exhaust and then is more tolerant of higher drive pressures due to the less overlap.

Most of the early cams were 107's but lately we have been giving people a choice.

When in doubt go with the 107
