Hello All, new to this site, and needing some help with my 12 valve performance options. Here is a run down of what it is and what I'll be doing with it.

The truck is a 1996 3/4 12 valve with a 913 215hp P-Pump and 181 DV's. I'm building the truck up to be a mud racing truck, it will never see the street and just run 100 to 200 feet through a mud pit, could have back to back passes, but infrequently. The truck is an auto and I've been in talks with Dave Goerend about the tranny I'll be building up for it. The races have different classes, I'm starting out this year in Class II, but the end goal is to be running in Class IV next year. I've planned a rebody and shortening the truck up considerably, with a 1946 dodge powerwagon body, but that has to wait till next year. All the classes are gassers, either small or big blocks and the differnt classes limit what you can do with them. Class II we figure is in the 4 to 500hp range, and class IV is in the 900 hp range.

I want to make a progression up in power as I get funds, but they are limited due to building a house and shop, so one the ordering is important and two I don't really want to buy intermediate parts that I'll not use next year.

The truck will be running 37"x13"x16" boggers on factory wheels (those are fun to mount) and 3.55 gearing, front will have a locker, back will be welded, and traction bars built.

Most of the parts I'll have to buy, I'll be shopping for used or on sale when I can find them.

The first step is modifying the P-Pump fuel plate, I'll be cutting it down to a #100 plate, full forward and moving the afc housing forward as well, what adjustments for additional fueling need to be made? Star wheel, smoke screw?

I'm going to install a 4kGSK kit and 60lb exhaust valve springs to handle the higher RPM's.

Injectors: I was wanting some DPP 140's, but the 900+ buck purchase price has me looking at other options. Truck currently has stock injectors in it, what other economical options are out there?

Turbo: I'd love to have a 66mm/72/12 turbo, but don't think I'll have the 2k to swing it by the time race season starts in a few months, what other options are out there?

Just as a side note, this is running in a mud pit, not on a dirt track or paved race track, isn't pulling trailers or anything else but slinging mud.

Any help would be appreciated.

The class I ran in was a 6-cyl class LOL so I was running with jeeps and yotas and s10's, I could never place 1st, but I never placed last.

If I read Class 2 rules correctly, it states gasoline is the only fuel... do they have some kind of disclaimer for diesels? Also, I would go with a smaller turbo... something like a 62/65/12 because you are going to want to keep it spooled to the best of your ability. You hit some deeper mud that pulls your RPMs down to far and you'll snuff your charger and play hell getting it lit. Once you fall under the charger your through. Plus. its plenty of charger for 400hp.

7) gasoline only “101 Octane” - No racing fuels of any kind. No Perfumes, scents of any kind.

This is in regards to octane limits on gasoline, class one is limited to 93 octane, there was a chevy military blazer diesel that ran in class one once last year, it was stock and pretty boring to watch.

As far as full out racing diesels in the races, there haven't been any, I'll be the first one to try it with MAMR as far as I know. My little brother that races his chevy 383 things I'll be too heavy, which might be true, but will just have to see how she works out when foot hits the floor the first time.

You can just go twins by adding a HT3B to the mix with you HX35/ or you can staret with a HX40, some 370 marine injectors are cheep also.
