I was curious if anyone has done this....My friend just bought the motor and trans so now we are tearing them down to do the proper performance mods to it....If anyone has any suggestions please fill me in...thanks

its been done search in here there is a thread or two on those model of pickups.

one suggestion is to take your time and do it right the first time. it will save time and money in the long run.
