Fellas Im a 3rd genner, but a buddy of mine bought a 94 12v and the fella that he bought it from said it was fire ringed and had ARP head studs in it and has a 3pc manifold, and that's all he knows is done to the truck. It still on the stock turbo from what I can see.
He say's the truck smokes like freight train and when hooked to a trailer his egt's get outta control fast!!!! Is there an easy way to check the fuel plate to see what might be done to that and what do I need to look for??

He said he has a stud that is loose and is loosing coolant, could that just be the stud being loose and letting coolant leak around it, dose the stud just need to be retorqued??

Any info will be greatly APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
Buddy

pull the afc off and make sure it works or even has an arm in it. should be able to tow with it no matter what plate it has. i would try to retorque the studs and see what happens

im not sure if you retorque the stud if it will fix it, it could have blown the head gasket since it was loose. check to see if theres oil in the coolant or take the oil dip stick and hold a lighter to it and if it bubbles you have coolant in your oil and the head gasket is blown. thats where i would start. a fuel plate will make it smoke a little but not that bad he might have injectors i cant imagine the guy went through all that with fire ringing it and everything with stock injectors. he most likely had a bigger turbo on it before your buddy got it

The stud pulled right out, it was snapped off and looks to me like its been snapped for a long while!! Looks like gonna have to pull the head to check the gasket and get the snapped stud out!
