I'm working on a fuel system for an older 12V dodge, it sort of a street/puller system. A FASS cost a bit much plus it just wouldn't look right here. Here's what I have gathered so far, 5/8 ID suction tube in the tank up to bulkhead in top of sender (my own home built vulcan). I'm thinking 1/2" or maybe 5/8" for lines an hoses (but I am on the fence), Dual CAT type fuel filter/ water seperator, Aeromotive 13301 boost referenced bypass regulator, 1/2 or 5/8 return line. I want to run 2 different fuel pumps. I thought about a walbro 392 for say in town driving/highway with the ID of the hosebarb fittings machined to a more reasonable size, but I don't know if it will keep the draw straw primed for easy starting? The other "competition pump" will flow a whopping 4.4 GPM @ 20 psi (or in more p7100 friendly terms 5.3 GPM at 60 psi) however is not rated for continuous use (gets hot) OR TRANSPORTATION USE, thus the walbro as a primary.
Now the twist. The regulator and fuel pressures might sound strange to some, the system is for a VE pumped 12V. It is heavily modded and actually has had the entire fuel supply system modded a year back for similar problems. Full 3/8 from inside the tank to the pump, custom application cummins piston type lift pump, and big banjo bolts :hehe: are not enough so it all must go. With newly found traction it will actually pull the system pressure down too low while pulling the sled. I actually want to have the system capable of fueling a pXXXX if I ever have the $$$ to step up.
