Hello all. I have my sig filled out and have been reading alot. I have a couple questions. I have a 66-71-12 and i wasnt at the time able to buy the 14 turbine housing. I have been wondering about using an external gate and possibly running a hamilton 188 cam. What kind of improvements would i see using either or both? I can with my current setup peg 1600 if i stay in it. I use it as a street truck no pulling. I see about 45psi of boost and have tested for boost leaks and found none. I have had a drive pressure guage on it and have seen at most 60 psi to 45 boost. Usually it was closer to 50psi to 45 boost. Thanks guys.

Get rid of those 370s and get a decent injector. The cam will help spoolup/egts, and the wastegate will keep you from overspeeding the turbo, but in my opinion the money could be better spent than on an external gate.

What would you suggest I spend the money on other than injectors? I really want to do a cam but I can peg 1600 with this turbo.

studs, oring the head, better exhaust manifold, and a 14cm housing for the turbo IMO that housing is too tight for that turbo set up on a manual truck. for sure like dieselhead said get rid of those 370's and find something better.

The 370's have a wide spray pattern. Do as dieselhead117 suggested and your EGT's will come down. After the injectors and cam, see where you are.

A nice set of 5x.14s or 5x.16s should do the trick for the injectors. With your marine injectors and higher timing it wouldn't surprise me if you were spraying out of the bowl.

I did forget to mention that I have the first gen no intercooled pistons. I had the head ported at hamilton cams and also had some o rings installed and head studs. I'm sorry for not mentioning it earlier.

someone i know went from 191s to the sdx comps and made 62 horse more on the dyno it will run about 100 hotter at full throttle...
