Just curious if the extra noise is normal, or is it a sign that i should run a fuel lubricant or larger dv's. Pump just got out of the shop. Plate is almost all the way to the rear, running 181's, .084 lines and Mach 7's.

High timing values = yes and great power

Low timing values = much less racket/noise and lower power. sometimes hundreds less. I like 6.5mm's of lift to drive around and 7.1 and up for max power

Someone told me that advancing your timing 5-10 degrees can gain 50+ HP is that true? Other than dyno tuning is there anyway to find the sweet spot?

Actually, I'm talking about pump noise, not engine noise. Mine is set at 8.5mm. According to my supplied chart, that is about 25deg.

Ron, mine is real noisy too. Also, I spoke to Mark Massey about using 181's and he advised against it.

They reccomend nothing smaller than full cuts, and nothing smaller than 5 x .018's. That means track only.

mines loud and it also has more timing chatter set at the same timing as it was as a 12mm (quicker injection)

Im running 181's as well

my 13mm is a lot louder than the stock pump..........i put it on with stock timing, drove it then bumped it to around 18 and plan on running 20-22*(want to break the new engine in befor i throw "to much" at it LOL

if you ever heard a p pump on a test bench spining 2000rmp(would be 4k engine rmp) you could understand why there noisy on the truck lol

Yeah just the P Pumps them selves making the injection are most of the noise you hear under the hood.

Want a race tough guy???:hehe:

It will be nice to hear some before and afters from those that have recently installed 13mm pumps. Hopefully, now that the weather is getting better, some numbers and times will start to trickle in. I haven't had a chance to step into mine yet. That valve train issue knocked the wind out of me.

April 18th with be my first run on the 13mm, the last run was with a vp :hehe:

U still running the single Bullet? I don't think I'd stand a chance with the turbo on my truck right now. I'll have to chicken out and hide under the porch.

I'm gonna run one day with the bullet and see how it does. Then I'm hooking up the bottom turbo. The thing runs like a raped ape right now, might as well see how it does first. I'll put a good old fashion Yankee azz woopin on you at TS!! :Cheer:

Hopefully I'll bring a can of southern woop-azz there to open up for you. Gotta get some parts I ordered in the beginning of February to show up at my house to even stand a slim chance of that happening, though. Still have some cutting, fitting and welding to do after that, and some tuning to boot. Only 4 week(ends) to work with.

I picked up my truck yesterday and brought it home. Had to drive the little Toyota car up, load it on the trailer, and pull the trailer back home with the truck. I was a bit concerned as to how 25 deg's of timing, a 13mm pump, Mach 7's, and a set of 64/71/16 over Gt4718 twins was going to act towing all the hills coming back from Fortuna. It was a piece of cake. It ran around 825 deg on the flats in od/unlocked. When I'd come to a hill I would go to 3rd locked and take it to 900 deg's. I only had 1 hill drop me below 55mph. I was usually seeing 900 deg's at 15-20psi depending on the hill and speed. At 20psi total I was seeing about 7psi from the primary. Thing is a PITA to start though. Runs rough at real light throttle poking along in town too. A couple more re-torques and I'll see how it does with more than 1/3 throttle.

I bet you didn't even use 1/4 throttle. Sure good tp see you again.
