1500 front end on a 2500

I have a 02 chevy 2500hd, the plan is to swap a 06 front clip on to it but the one I have found is a 1500. Will it work? Now I'm reading that my 01-02 core support won't work and the 1500 support won't work with the duramax...

For 2500 "HD" grille this is the case, the regular 2500's are the same as 1500.
