Does anyone out there have a 16mm p-pump or ran one, I am thinkin thats what I am gonna do on my dt motor for pulling. Just wondered if anyone has any input on this. Thanks Paul

Ever seen what they have done with the 13 and 14mm? You really think you are going to exceed that?

the main issue I see with the 16mm p&b is that the only source ive seen for them is rocken and they are chinese units, so i would have trouble trusting the quality especially on somthing that has such a tight tolerance as a p&b

what class are you running? rpm limit? turbo rules? cubic inch limit? I know of 640 inch limited prostocks running 4.1 turbos with 13mm pumps in excess of 1800hp. the key is a good pump with a good cam and governor as everyone is using the same p&b for the most part

The only 16mm I know of is a Sigma. Then it becomes a matter of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it."

Didnt know they where chinese, I am running hot farm 510 cid limit, no rpm limit, 3in 3.5 out turbo just want the best working combo that makes the most power. Thanks Paul

A 13mm will flow all the fuel you will ever need for that application. Im around all the 466 hot farm and 640 pro farm tractors in the badger state association quite a bit and even if you had a pump that big you would just be waaay overfueled and be of no benefit. Im guessing rules state 13mm is the limit anyway?

I dont have any experiance running one but i know a few people that have either the sigma from columbus or even hypermax has a big pump. They are not cheap but they are quite popular at the national farm show:hehe: you can check into one of those if you want the edge.

most rules will state limited to p pump with stock housing (either 3000 or 7000 body)

a good 13mm with a good charger (would reccomend hx 60 with mfs wheel)
on a 510 should be capable of 1100+ and that is probably what it will take to win if there is any competition

ya I have been thinkin 13 or 14 from Haisley's but found this the other night and just wondered. Prob. will do one of them

We have sourced 14, 15, and 16mm b&p sets that are NOT RockenTech. We have quite a few 14mm pumps out and running with no problems thus far (due to b&p manufacturing or materials) and we are waiting for the 15 and 16's (for 7000 series) to arrive so we can get them in a pump and on a dyno for testing.

Like gotta12v said, a 13mm pump built right will be the best set-up for your build. From all the dyno testing we've been a part of, going to a larger plunger (over 13) has only netted a power gain in the limited pro-stock and pro-stock engines which are turning much higher rpm and therefore need (and use) the faster injection rate of the larger plungers.

Here's one from the past, I knew of 15mm P&B's in 03' said they were hard to find but worked well, the person that told me I seriously doubt would lie to anyone but it was a 7100 looking case.

Jim

I have seen 15 and 16 in a p7100 housing............ I think the benifit is injection rate, not really quantity.

Hey roachie, I thought a sigma was 18mm. Could be wrong but that's what i was always told.

Sigma's come in 16 and 17mm the 16 is in the standard case and the 17 is the billet case.

what class do u run. i dont really think u need to run a 16mm unless u are trying to spool huge i mean huge chargers.

I am gonna run Hot Farm PPL, not really looking for more quanity of fuel but more pressure, and better injection rate. Dont really know what the cc difference is from 13mm or 14mm to a 16mm. Really just looking to see what people though hopeing to have a very competitive tractor all the way around. There are alot of stout tractors up here so I am gonna do everything I can to have the advantage. Gotta beat up on the Deeres every chance ya get lol :hehe:

dont go with rocken tech! i had there 13mm P&B's and my pump started coming apart with about 2500 miles on it...clogged my injectors with metal shavings...what a mess. thats my opinion tho

Thats good to know, Thanks I should just stay with a 14mm anyway for starters.
