wonderin what the most amount of fuel u can pull outta a 180 pump is?

just looked at the nebraska power pullers rules and as far as a turbo goes the only rules they have is single charger under 3.0 and u can also run a twins set up.... since this is my frist pullin truck build and first time ever messin with a p pump im not overly familiar with what htey can do.... just wonderin if they can fuel hard enough for a 3.0 charger or do i need to go with a smaller charger?

also how much advantage is a guy with a 3.0 charger goin to have over a 2.6 or 2.8 i started out wantin to build a 2.6 but the only pulls we have round here are antique tractor pulls and this year there stating only stock trucks can pull.... well i've already started buildin mine so looks like im goin to have to travel to pull with the nebraska power pullers and since im this far into it i don't wanna go down there way under powered..... any advice on the matter or a suggested set up would be very helpful thnx for any info......

good luck...lots of $$$ and when you think you've spent enough $$$ you'll realize you only just begun!

I don't think that you need to go with a 3.0 charger to compete. One of the nppa pullers has been winning for the last couple years on a prostreet 66. There is a little bit of everything in that club. 3.0s, twins, 2.6,..

There are quite a few pulls here in eastern nebraska that aren't nppa and allow modified trucks. Not saying that it isn't worth pulling with them though. They are a good group of guys.

You can run a 3.0 with a 12mm pump and big injectors.
Big thing to know is auto or manual?

wow thnx for the quick replys my biggest concern right now is im puttin money into this truck as my primary hobby i want to be able to go out and pull almost every weekend not just 3 times a year... theres only 1-2 actual truck pulls around my area(central nebraska) that i know of the only other ones i've seen are the NPPA.... do u have any more info on the other pulls 97?

i really didn't want to go with taht big of a charger but i wasn't wanting to be the guy in the back of the pack every pull.... i figured i'd get down there and every one was runnin 3.0's or twins.... so that makes me feel a little better lol...

If you are on a budget and only plan on hooking a couple times a year I would stay away from a 3.0. It won't be drivable and if you can fuel it hard it can be harder on parts
IMHO I would get a good 2.6 charger so you can compete and still drive it with less issues than the larger chargers. You can still make good hp on a 2.6 and compete. It isn't hard or expensive to step up to a 2.8 or 3.0 later on if you decide you want to go bigger.

Go big or stay home. LOL
If your going with the s400's the streetability between the 65-75mm chargers aren't that different.
