Forgive me if this subject has been beaten to death but I have done alot of searching and haven't really came up with the answer im looking for. What is the difference between a 180 pump and a 215 pump? I have been told that these pumps have same cams in them, but the 215 pump has a helix cut on top of the plunger that will retard timing 3-4 degrees over a certain mm of rack travel. This sounds not so desirable to me. But everyone seems to like the 215 pumps better, so why?

Im still trying to learn about these p7100's so forgive my lack of knowledge!

Better lighter governor assembly in the 215 pumps. If you don't turn the barrels in the 180 pump I believe the 215 pump will have the edge. I can't tell you exactly why, only that that's what i've read. The plungers and governor assembly working are what makes the difference but couldn't tell you the specifics of how or why.
