i put 188 208 hamailon cam in while back , i had 90 ddp inj in it i was getting 11 mpg average pulling trailer pu wt 12000 lbs 4 door plus ex cab , trailer empty 6000 lbs , , i put 75 ddps in it now in runs much harder quiter , pulles hills better , you can gain speed up them now with the 90s it would just hold the speed , i went on 1000 mile trip , it averaged 13, 14 mpg going 75 , its never got that good even empty , the cam works perfect pulls from 1400 to 3000 rpm , very nice set up , , i had car on trailer its a deck over 25 ft and 6 18.4 38 tractor tires on it the total wt had to be 22 to 24 lbs going 75 and getting consistant 13, 14 mpg is dam good in my book , tons of power too

Period, Enter, and Shift man... Use them!

I'm confused. Tried but I can't comprehend all the commas.

14mpg on a mileage cam? I had way more fuel, with stock cam and 4.10s, and got better mileage than that.

That was loaded also.

Compared to what both my 12-valves got loaded 14 is pretty decent, I usually got 12+ up to 14 pulling my 20ft Terry TT doing about 65mph with the short box 2wd auto '98. Anytime I had to take it out of OD for grades or slower roads MPG really dropped, down to 11-12. Had mild injectors & #10 plate, timing at 16.5 and 3.54 gears.

Let's see, I burn through about 2.5 gallons of fuel in 5 or so passes. That's .25 miles, plus another .5 shut down area, .75 return road. So 1.5 times 5 is 7.5. 7.5 divided 2.5 is ... 3 miles per gallon give or take a little. :)

Edit... I thought of said 188/220 cam. Ah fuggit.

You check your afc bro?! That's probably your problem. You need to crank your star wheel. Probably wouldn't hurt to advance your timing... I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.

Down hill with the wind at your back....

Maybe I need to trade in my DDP 90's for some 75's. Sounds like they got mo powa.

It does smoke a lot. Maybe I should do that. :)
