i purcased a 188 208 cam from hamilton cams , i will give you the whole story with no bs like most people do , motor is 12 v cummins marine pistons , full ported head , studs top and bottom , bd towing twins , bd manifold , banks intake , 13cc p pump 810 ccs fuel . stock lift pump with 1/2 line , truck is 1995 4 doors plus ex cab strech dually , , trans is eaton fuller 6 speed with .69 overdrive 3,55 gears 235 85 16 tires , 73 mph is 2100 rpm ,i had a 202 202 dur and 307 307 cam in it with 140 injectors , i pull trailer 70 to 78 with 18000 on trailer the pick up is 12000 lbs , , with that cam it didnt make power untill 2000 and above , it has 3000 gov springs so limited power band , it smoked very bad it got 8 to best of 10 mpg over 10000 miles mostly around 9 mpg , i installed the 188 208 cam , it pulls from 1550 thats full boost it starts comming on at 1450 and it pulls hard all the way to 2800 it would probly do more but the gov cuts fuel at that point. smoke is way better it makes ten lbs more boost and exhuast temps droped from 1400 to 1200 before turbos , timeing was at 16 at injector 18.4 at pump , now it pulls the hills like nothing does not slow down one mph !! before it was 5 mph less on hills ,the frist trip out mileage didnt change but it wanted to run hard so i let it going 75 to 80 at times and beeting on it to see how it ran . very impressed! , i have scince put 90 inj tips on ddps also , and put timing to 22 at injector also tried 18 at injector it seems to like 22 the best , it no longer smokes at all other than a puff on startup unless you flat foot it , there is no haze going down the road at all and none at idle , going 72 with this setting it got best of 11.8 empty trailer , loaded it got 10.8 wich it never would before and 10 at worst , it makes 65 lbs boost" before it would make 50 "with less fuel than before and runs twice as hard on the hills with less fuel to motor the cam is very impressive and i will be buying a second or third too !! the old 98 12v stock cam s would run good until 2300 then fizzle out this cam pulls harder sooner and never stops pulling!! those of you with a 5 speed with the big splits between 3 and 4 would realy like this cam ! im going to try ddp 75 injector next to see what that does , im tring to get more mileage with it but overall its a 30000 lb rig getting 11 at 72 so not bad it dynoed at 610 and 1600 ft before the cam but it drove like 300 and 800 now it feels like 610 and 1600 and its were you can use it for real world driveing not just big dyno numbers that dont mean anything any ways !! try one you wont be disapointed !! the mileage is better and it will pull like nothings back there !! priceless !!
