I picked up a 195 p pump the other day for my 2.6 pulling truck build. What im wondering is how much power can be made with one before having to go a 13mm pump? Im hoping to be around 7-800 hp to be competitive around here in the 2.6 class. I plan on doing everything i can to it to get the most out of it but wonder if im wasting my time because i need a 13mm. Im hoping not thats why im here. also I've heard alot of debate on d.v's. some say run full cuts, ive also heard that 024's are plenty and thats you need. whats your guys opinions? I do plan on making it so i can drive on the street some. by no means a daily driver but to shows for our shop and a little around to show it off some. sorry for the paragraph just trying to get everything in there. thanks

The 12mm should do just fine... The full cuts are pretty smokey from what i've heard. I have never ran them myself though. I haven't heard of anything for the 024s.Those pumps can really produce a lot more than a person would think without having your barrels and plungers worked and all. A set of 191 dvs, 5k gov springs, and a good fuel plate or even run without a fuel plate. If you have a good lift pump to back it up it'll definitely run for you. the p-pump runs great if you can supply it with 35psi or so.

Got some more info on my pump today thanks to seth at diesel performance engineering. Its got the cam and governor like a 160 and 175 pump, timing retard notches, barrels and plungers like a 215 pump and 131 d.v.'s. He said it should be a good pump so thats refreshing.

Since it has the earlier style cam it will be a harder to reach your goal because of the lack of fill time. I would get your DV's cut to comp valves and send the pump of to seth to get benched. That would be an ok starting point if you plan on staying with this pump.
