1977 w 400 dodge

do you think this truck would pass tech for 2.6-2.8 class? it has a 100 rear and 80 front and some kind of heavy transfer case and nice heavy frame. no rust, 55k miles and a new 440 motor. guy want to trade me this truck for my dodge.

Our classes say that it must be an option on a 1 ton or smaller.

80 front? You sure it's not a 70 front?

is the rear axle an 8 bolt lug pattern? if so you may be able to get away with it...for a while anyway as it looks very 1tonish! Also, that will have a D70 closed nuckle axle on the front of it.

It will have D70 or D80 rear and a D70 front. Front may or may not be closed knuckle. I know of one local W400 that has a kingpin open knuckle D70. I saw an older SRW W400 a few yrs ago with D70's front and it was closed knuckle and I have a D70 closed knuckle sitting at my shop out of one. Most D70 fronts are closed knuckle. The exception are the ones in 94-00 GM 3500HD
4x4's,05+ GM 4500's 4x4's,and some Quigly 4x4 vans. I have a lead on a set from a Quigley if anyone gets excited about owning a set.

T-Case would be a np203 or an np205.
