Heres a video of my first hook this year. My hitch broke at the end so I got DQed. The welds on the hitch didnt break, the clevis literally just broke in half:doh: I'll try to get some pics of the broken clevis up tomorrow. Anyways here is a video, along with a little added commentary from my little sister and some friends:cheer:

Do U have to break things on the 1st hook of the year? :doh:

That sucks you got DQed for something out of your power....better luck next time. Good looking hook by the way
 
I was standing at the line when it broke and it looked like it would have been good for 3-4th.

I think it would have been good for a 3rd place and possibly a 2nd as it was still moving some when it broke.

Looks like the weld broke bending the clevis thus breaking it?

I know very little about sled pulling...but I know a lot about rigging.
With that shackle welded at an angle like that and getting side loaded it was bound to fail sooner or later. They are made for straight pulls only.
I'd redesign that hitch it it was me.
 
josh were you running the k31 or was that still you charger from last year??? guy teching couldn't remember what you had but didn't remember seeing any K31s so I was just wondering.

He had his K31 modded into a PhatShaft71(the PS71 just has a wastegated housing), and that is what he was running. I couldnt believe how fast it lit. Seemed to spool better than the HX55 he was running with the sled behind it.
