Well first post, im excited to see what i can learn.

Alright with the mods i have now what should i be looking at next.

Uses: I use it everyday for transportation additionally I use it for work thus it does everything from hauling hay and other random stuff in the bed to towing trailers and equipment.

Goals: I want to keep it an easy to drive everyday truck that is reliable.

Concerns:

Don’t think this is a real issue but I am worried about tranny it always takes a second for it to work its way into the gear that I want. No grinding, but it typically has a bump bump feel into gear when shifting. Not a smooth transition. Is this normal? How often should nv5600 trannys be serviced? I’ve got over 100K+.

Clutch with the power I am turning should I be looking at that next? I don’t hot rod the truck around, and don’t slip the clutch. I know it had a new factory clutch at 63000miles from service records.

Ideas: Boost Elbow (will this make to much hp and destroy clutch), what else should I do?

Thanks Rob

Not real sure on what my goal is for hp eventually. Im not even sure what the truck is turning right now. I could not image going over 500 and 400 would be more likly. I just want a good reliable truck.

Im thinking boost elbow, maybe and intake and maybe an exhust brake any other things i should think about?

Anyone understand what my tranny issue is?

DDIII's (100hp)
edge comp or quad adrinaline
62/12 62/14 phat shaft
some type of fuel system
clutch
gauges if you aint got them (fp, pyro, boost)

this should give you a soild 400, atleast that is my$.02

Typical NV5600, change the fluid out, it's supposed to be done every 30K IIRC.

Prepare to upgrade the clutch FIRST, all it took with my truck was a set of 275's and the stocker was toast, then I went to a 350HP rated clutch...it didn't make it either (I am rough on stuff, I don't blame the clutch). I have a 450HP rated clutch now, guess what? I'm looking to upgrade to a dual disk before I add any horsies. Why? Without it, all the power is useless.

In your shoes, this is what I would do. Get a good intake system and at least a 4" exhaust, then a set of 100HP rated sticks, Dynomite makes some of the best around IMHO. The stock turbo on your truck will handle these (barely) but at the same time if you go to a larger turbo they will still spool it. If you are going to keep the truck as a work truck and DD like you said, shoot for about 400-425HP tops, makes for a nice DD that will live. I personally would use either an Edge Juice or Comp rather than the current Quad box you have now, that's just personal preference though, the new Quad box seems to have everybody happy but I have no experience with it. I also like the ability to change the HP level on the fly, which I can do with the Comp I have now, level two for towing to keep the EGT's down and 5 for stomping on the occasional baby seal.

Feel free to ask questions, what we are here for.

Boost elbow is a good idea. I'm surprised if the quad box you've got didn't come with one, most other manufactures include the elbow. I wouldn't worry about the clutch until it starts burning out. BHAF might be a good idea for better filtration if you're in a dusty environment.

But once that clutch shows signs of slippage, look into upgrading ASAP. Don't try to limp it along, or 'take it easy'. They take a good amount of abuse though.

BHAF is definately better at stopping dirt than the stock setup. HP gains are negligable with it, but the improved filtration and spooling sound make it worth it IMO.

You Sig shows the exhaust was straight piped with 3".... I would look to upgrade this to a 4" system. This will help with egt's
