Hey yall i have 2 cummnis 12v engines they're out of a 90 model dodge, these engines were on a maintence program.
one engine is a complete engine with a ve pump and a HX-35 turbo.
this engine come out of a truck that was hit on the side and totaled the truck
Next engine missing turbo injection pump and virbation damper, this engine was pulled out because there maintance guy couldn't get it cranked and after they took it out it was the injection pump that went out.
one has a starter and power steering pump and vacuum pump on it.
I would like to get 3000 for the complete engine and 1000 for the uncomplete engine.

ouch what? they are worth at least 2000 a piece because thats what a core charge is

well go buy a block, pistons, rods, head, and turbo and tell me where on this earth you can get these parts for under 2000?

Look your talking 12v, you can buy them all day long 1500 and less, there's guys on here who have GIVEN away long blocks cause they don't sell, do your research, Dont go off core charges. That's like saying your chip gave you 350hp cause the box said so.

the first part might be true, but the second part is a joke.

Tmoney is right. It's not just 12v's, It's everything. If your going to sell something and want it gone then you need to post up that kind of price or keep on bumping this thread for a couple years.

Not trying to bust your bubble here, I can get a first gen for $3k

I'm not saying the engines aren't "worth" that.

But no one is gonna pay $3k for a VE pumped engine, and IIRC things are really only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Not trying to harp either, but I just bought a complete (long block, oil pan, valve cover, fan, flexplate, adapter, starter, PS pump, vac. pump, VP44, lines, turbo, basically everything) engine for $1500 for a second gen. It only has 165K miles on it.

so why do plenty of construction guys/ loggers pay 7800 for the same engine rebuilt and pay a 2000 core fee if they dont send in the core so that would put it at 9800.

Cause they don't know better or if they do they don't wanna bother with anything else. They'd rather just pay the money and over with it

Because they have machinery that is down and not making money. That leaves the operator not making the owner money but paying the operator for nothing. They do whatever it takes to make money regardless of the cost sometimes. Plus it is all a tax write off in the end.

This is a diesel enthusiast site where for the most part the individuals are buying stuff for project vehicles, Not for there business. Try joining a construction or logging forum and see how that works for you.

Blackdog was that necessary?
I know all about the tax write off deal and logging jobs.
I've worked in the woods all my life....

Hold up, I just checked your age. All your life huh? After seeing your age I now understand why you have no clue about pricing anything. Now I know why your trying to rape the compd community with your prices.
