2.6 and 2.8 class videos from Harrodsburg, Ky last night

The full pull mark was determined to be at 325' after a couple trucks hooked. The cones in the video are at 300'. They had a hard time stopping the trucks last night as you can see. We had to have 3 rounds of pulloffs. Usually with that sled there is no trouble stopping the trucks, even without all the weight in it. Last night they had all the weights in it, and the chain lengthened more than normal but it still wasnt stopping the trucks. I think the track was just so hard that the pan wasnt digging in like usual. Finally as you can tell in the pulloff video, they lengthened the chain waaay out and when that didnt work they had to go to the big gear on the sled. I won with a distance of 170'+ and 2nd place was 107'

Congrats Josh. Williams truck sure sounded crazy in the 2.8 class.

Was there a pulloff for the 2.8 class??
Looks like its time to weld some bars on the bottom of the pan..

Edit:... trucks look good guys...

Why does the sled suck? I like it myself.

It never does that. I think what the problem was, was that they had a memorial pull for a man that passed away earlier in the night. They had about 30 trucks or so to pull and they had it set really light because they just wanted everyone to make a full pull and they werent doing it for money or anything. I think it packed the track down really hard and the sled pan couldnt make enough friction to stop the trucks. Any other time, it never has a problem stopping them. They ended up going to 2nd gear in order to stop the 2.6 trucks in the pull off since it wouldnt stop them with all the weight in the sled with it in 1st gear.

Clementsville is a good outfit, but the sled isn't really big enough to work good. They need it built to transfer a lot more weight from the box to the pan. I have seen it many times unable to stop the big diesel trucks. I remember a 4 time pull-off at Nicholasville, the only way they could stop the trucks was to hook a 10foot chain between the trucks and the sled, that was fun!! In all fairness it was never intended to handle 1000hp 8500lb trucks. The other problem for them is when they use their scales they are 1000lbs off so the trucks can actualy weigh in excess of 9500lbs!!! That makes them alot harder to stop than they should be.

The track sucked more than the sled. Congrats to josh! Excellent job pulling it the 4 or 5 times that he did.

The track was the hardest track that I have ever seen in my life.. BUT I will take a win against Matt however I can get it! lol
