Hi all

Our class this year is allowing up to a 2.9 single turbo

So whats out there in a turbo that has decent spool on a motor that will only see max 3500 rpm

Depends on the CI of the engine. But with a 5.9 your gonna have about 5-700rpm window.

I have been to my share of the meetings that went like: Well everywhere has 2.8 so lets go a bit more and say 2.9.

Hi
No idea why 2.9
As to rpm - I run a 93 VE motor and if I try hard, I might be able to get it to 4000 rpm, so decided that being realistic was 3500 rpm

with the prostreet 66 I run now, I only have a 1000 rpm window as it doesnt lite hard till around 22 - 2300 rpm and under power its about 3100 tops down the track

Ok so if a 2.9 anything is too big, whats decent in a 2.8, hybrid, off the shelf, or otherwise

thanx

I would be looking at p-pumping, will be hard to go any bigger charger with the limited fuel of the VE pump.

I dont know depending on the ve it seems some of the ve guys are getten decent numbers with 14mm h&r's. But being so rpm limited is still gonna hurt you.

I have big injectors and the 14mm rotor/head so no lack of fuel

SO a rephrase of my question then

What size inducer is a 2.6 2.8. 2.9, and which common turbo(s) fits the bill for each, and make 60-70 psi

or better yet what lbs per minute does our motors need to be competitive in each of those sizes and which turbo can supply said air requirments and still lite and run between 2200 and 3500 rpm

thanx:ft:

A stock HT60 is 2.9... at least mine is, lol. Good luck keeping it lit with only 3500 rpms though
