Today I work with '00 Ram 2500 (towing package) and I found rear springs are different than in my '98 12 2500 with towing package.

The main difference is :
In my truck ('98) lowest pring is almost contact with 3 mains pring (and it's not stright , more like U-style) and and those 3 are almost same lenght

In '00 the lowest spring is almost stright and spring ends are not contact with 3 main spring (1 inch cap between main springs) . Also 3 main spring are different lenght.

The top 2 extra support springs are similar.

Any Ideas?

I'm not quite sure what your question is, but I have seen several different rear leaf spring configurations depending on model year and how the truck was equipped.

I really haven't seen enough differences in the handling characteristics between the different spring configurations to get that concerned about it, but I also don't overload my trucks frequently enough to form an opinion on which style setup I prefer.

'00 springs feels softer with bad roads, maybe its just feeling.

Tomorrow I will try to make few pictures to show the difference.

The 00' have progressive rate spring packs and the 98' has a single rate pack.
