I shelled the rear ujoint last night and it broke a piece of the slide off yoke off. Any idea why to pick up one and do autos use the same piece

it happened to me on my 96 12 valve..

I lost the rear section of it on the highway... and had to take it home in 4wd. could not find the section shortly after I lost it.. and couldn't find a drive shaft in my local junkyards either...

I wound up finding it on car-part.net or is it .com? I don't remember.. but the shipping cost as much as the driveshaft did...

id shy away from a 1 piece. if youve got a long cab long bed the length dictates a heavy wall tube and thats a looooong driveshaft. i had one that vibed and kill my pinion seal and bearing. went back to a 2 piece.

See your local driveline shop and have one made, in AL. I have hundreds out there in trucks from stock to more than 1600ft lbs.

Best upgrade you'll make

^I agree. I love my one piece aluminum. Its 5" o.d., can't recall tube thickness. Worth the money.
