2000 cummins problem

Alright so i bought this truck from a lot. Had the truck a few days and it would not start in my driveway. So i called the lot and they had there place pick it up and look at it. They said the lift pump was out and they put a new one on the truck. I know they say once the lift pump goes the inj is right behind it. so the story goes on. i drove the truck one day and it was at the house went to move it and it started and died. hit it again same thing. So i call them they come get it. They call the next night and tell me lift pump is bad again and they found a wire in the harness that was running to the pump that was shorting out the pump. so they fixed that and put another lift pump on it. now i am one day later drove the truck to work came home it ran good. Went out a little bit ago to move the truck and it did the same thing started it and it died. So i am right back where i was. I can take it back to them but they dont seem to know what they are doing. I think it is the inj. pump. but im not sure. They only codes that came out the last time was P01693 on the key trick and on the computer it gave a po230. lift pump circuit out of range. So does anyone have any thoughts why this truck is now on its 3rd lift pump and same thing. Is it the inj. pump? can that keep making lift pumps go out? any help?
