Well after pegging my pyro about 50 times it finally happened. I have a crack big enough to make love to in my exhaust manifold. So I'm wondering if it would be possible to just weld it up? I have 2 buddies that are welders by trade, so if its possible they could do it. Has anyone done this? Thanks

i have a stock manifold sitting in the garage i will sell you cheap....tapped for pyro

Limted I have one too but the flange is welded straight on. Welding one of those manifold with high nickel rod will not work without heating it first or you could heat it and weld it with a tig and high nickel rod.

It's most likely cracked from shrinking after cooling back off from 2000F. I would replace it with a 3 piece and you won't risk pulling the threads out of the head. That and add some more air or you'll be pulling the engine down to replace melted pistons.

it would be easier and probably cheaper to just get another stock manifold from one of these guys, when we weld cracked cast manifolds at work the 3/32 Cu-89 rods are $5 a piece...

Hey limited i have one sitting here too. It wasnt on the truck long at all. As soon as i tapped it and added injectors i ended up getting a 3 piece and a turbo. If you want Pm me.

Thanks a lot guys. I think I'll just put a stocker back on it, allthough that header looks awfull nice...

So you have enough cash to play around with, to get your EGT's 800 degrees above what it takes to melt Aluminum. But not enough cash to spend on a 3 piece exhaust manifold?????

I think some people are crazy. I have enough cash to buy a 3 piece, but not enough cash to get my EGT's to 1000 degrees.

It will run over 1000 degrees bone stock:rolleyes:....and I have less money in my injectors than it would cost for a 3 piece:D
