2000 dodge need help no fuel level

ok, had the truck for about a year and a hafe and have t had any problums with it, couple days ago comeing to school the fuel light comes on and i think dang, i was just at the pump like 3 days ago. and thats when i relized i filled it up3 days ago my fuel level is below E need help on this no loose wires/ plugs grounds checked...

mine has an intermittent problem like that itll just fall to rock bottom and ding the fuel light, then randomly go back to the appropriate level after awhile, also wanders real bad sometimes, its also off pretty bad. I have a solid 10 gallons left at fuel light, most of the time I just go off a trip meter... I got my money on the sending unit. Im too lazy to fix it at the moment

I cleaned my tank out this past spring, while dropping the tank I destroyed the connector to the sending unit. So my fuel light is always on. Just go by the trip odometer.

Could check the obvious things but my best guess would be the sending unit.

The float on mine looked like it had been half eaten by acid and had just fallen off the arm LOL

I took my buddies apart and the float had fallen off the arm. The float was all wallowed out. So I slid it back on and welded a Bigger washer on the float arm. He's been running it a couple years now with no problem.

hmmm i wonder if that could be the problem with mine. my fuel light is always on. i have sending unit but too lazy to pull the bed up or drop the tank. i have had the sending unit sitting in my truck for almost a year now. the odometer works for now
