My brother has a 2001, in the beginning the truck died going the road but started right back up, died again after a mile but started. Then a few days later it the truck rev on its own, then fine. Next it free rev again and loped bad. Changed tps sensor, free rev again. Ordered new ii hrvp and now did the same thing, codes CPU 0122, 1693 ecu 0122, 1691,1693,0521,1689,0577,0602

Need some help

Look for a rubbed wire around the factory lift pump bracket. That's the issue I had with the same symptoms

X2 ecm is likely failed. Lots of idle validation pids prevents apps wiring failure from causing run-aways.

Mine is doing the same free rev but never died but has dead pedal and free revs. Replaced ecm and did not fix. I think we got a bad ecm so I will be trying another on Monday or Tuesday.

Ecm hands down. Mine did the exact issue a month or so ago. Did the same process as you. After the 1900 on a new blue chip pump, we figured out it was the ecm

Mine was just doing the exact same thing but the volt meter was crashing after it ran for a few minutes and my juice finally quit comunicating with the truck. I replaced all 4 battery terminals and the ends that went to them and that didn't fix then. Turns out it was a bad altinator in the end. Not saying its your problem but it very well could be.

A diode in my alternator went bad and it was putting out ac current which took out the ecm. I had the same codes, free rev, etc.

I got mine from auto computer exchange in florida. I've heard bad about them since, but when I bought mine I told them I saw on ebay that they had a lifetime warranty, so they applied it to my order. I went through 2 of them before I figured out I had a bad alternator taking them out and they replaced them no questions asked, so I had a good experience with them. I've had this one on for probably 4 years now.
