Can anyone offer any ideas as to what would be causing the way this truck runs while pulling down the track? Is it a fuel issue, turbo issue or tuning issue?

Sounds like it's running out of fuel. Do you run feed PSI gauge or rail pressure gauge?

Feed pressure holds. Rail goes up and down with the RPM. RPM goes from 4200 down the 3500 and back up. We have set the SSR rev limit to 6000 from 4700 to rule that out.

Any other thoughts would be great.

I have the same problem when towing at steep hills with mine, and on mine it's the wastegate that cant hold the exhaust pressure so it opens.
And that happends even if I have the spring wastegate turned all the way in.
But it only happends if the rpm is too low, so I just have to down shift and it stop doing it.

Running about 55psi of boost.

have you scanned the FCA? and what does the boost do during this?

Mine did the same thing and all I did was update my smarty and it went away. Mine was throwing a code for high rail pressure tho

BD 200hp injectors.
BD R850 turbo with diverter valve.
PPE dual CP3 kit.
BD intercooler
Smarty SSR

Problem was there before we put the dual fueler kit on. But it hasn't been there all year.
