2004 6.0 l Oil Rail HP leak

I'm in the process of replacing o-rings to fix a HP leak & found a strange piece of metal in the large oil rail plug; has anyone ever seen this before? Maybe left from when the plug was made? I can't find a part number, any help?

Almost looks like sheered of extension or plug socket???

That is how the square hole is made. It's machined round then a square die is pushed into it.
