2004 nv5600 into a 2001

I have a 2001 2wd HO 3500. My transmission is trashed and I am looking for another nv5600. The only one that I have came across is a nv5600 out of a 2004 2wd. Will this transmission work in my 01. If its not a direct bolt in what would I have to change?

Should be a direct bolt in, same tranny, same clutch etc.

i dunno about the 2wd version but i replaced my tranny with a 5600 out of an 04 and with mine being a 4wd the only change was I had to switch the mounting plate on the bottom of the tranny where the trans mount goes. the one on the 04 tranny is like 2" tal where as the 02 version was nearly flat...and with the taller one on the tranny it was hitting the bottom of the floor and i couldn't get the cross member in.

swapped it out (4 bolts) and all was well.
