The 48RE is still here.
Just picked up a 47RE 4x4 core, with a deep aluminum aftermarket pan and a nearly new Precision billet converter.
It still has nice red fluid in it, but it was a core return at a yard, so who knows what the issue is internally, comes with the aforementiond pan and converter, $375.

48RE 4wd sold AS-IS, was a CertiFRIED OEM rebuilt, supposedly worked, I won't guarantee a thing, consider it just a core, $1000.

Also have an NV271D (manual shift) 23 spline transfer case to fit it, $450.

Making a list:

2006 48RE 4WD, was a Certified Transmissions rebuilt, with a single disc billet converter, $1000.

2005 48RE 2WD, was running when pulled, just started to slip in O/D, comes with converter, sold as a core, $750.

1998 47RE 4WD, not many miles from rebuilt, worked nice when removed, has a single disc billet convertor, $850.

1998 NP241DHD, from an automatic, working unit when removed, $550.

1999 NP241DHD, from an automatic, unknown condition, seems tight, no broken or cracked cases, $300.

2005 NV271D transfer case, $450.
