2006 tach goes whacko

2006 qclb 48re 2wd 83k. Tack reads 4k or past red line or zero or just bounces around randonly. Truck runs fine and shifts fine. Completly stock truck. No mods ever. No codes. Any ideas?

Mine does the same thing, if it works at all.

Yep that was the same thing mine did. Had it changed twice. Now seems to be working (for now)

Mine is starting to do the same at idle and my buddies 06 does the same as chizwizdiz

mine does it too but i always shift by motor sound anyway.

Mines a little screwy as well, but mine reads low. Like it's idling at 200 RPM.

i think the cluster is around 400bucks

i got that too. never seen it go past 5k like in the pics, but it stays at like 800 then spikes up to like 2k then back down. i have a 06
