Dad got him a new truck. a 2007 5.9 Cummins. i am a 2nd Gen. 24V guy and dont know much about the common rails. Can you do away with the silencer ring on these truck? Can you check for codes the same way you do in the 2nd gens?

silencer ring you can take out if you want, and i think checking codes is different.you can use a smarty and other DL's to check codes though.
