24 valve into half ton

Hey guys I have a buddy of mine with a nice 98 qcsb 4x4 1500 dodge. He is wondering just how difficult it would be to swap in a 24 valve out of of an 02 2500 that i have layin in the barn. Ive got the engine harness and ecm and stuff but not sure what else would be involved to swap it in as far as electrical goes. He is wanting to stick with the vp44. Any input on the swap would be appreciated.
