I just got ahold of a running 99 24v. i have been wanting to do a swap into my 95 k2500 for long time, so im going ahead with it.

i plan to completely go thru the motor and check it out, weld the crack in the block, and hop it up. Plan on bvuilding a nasty do it all motor and drivetrain.

im planning on a twin turbo, big injectors, studs and the whole deal for it. my questions come when it comes time to drop in my k25 chassis.

I plan to run my 4l80e tranny. i am probably going to need a new converter, valve body and all. would goerend bros have everything for it?

also figured id get a destroked adapter....what about the engine mounts and all that..... anyones help appreciated. if im in the wrong forum, move me! Thanks guys

Call Dave. I would be leary of using the cracked block. I knew of someone who welded one up and it worked until he through the HP to it, then it started cracking again. If your gonna just keep it stock then that would be ok, but cranking it up, especially if your putting some money into it.

the crack is in the waterjecket side, under turbo. i think this is common in the 99 blocks?

Get the motor in, get everything working correctly with what you have. Drive it, enjoy it, and look for another motor, you have a 53 block, they are much badness if not a good one :(

what block should i shoot for? i was thinking studding and all that happy crap, waste of money for now then correct? is my 01 motor a keeper.... i could always switchem out, dont plan on keeping that truck around once i get my 95 done.

i also thought about setting my chevy atop the dodge frame, thus saving me motor mounts, and a SAS. but havent really gotten into looking and measuring. dodge is ecsb, chevy rclb.....

Any block that does not have the 53 casting number should do the trick and the motor in your 01 should be a non 53 block.

tits! ok...

any other help on getting it running? what do i need to wire and stuff?
