241dhd jumping out of gear

When down shifting in 3rd my transfercase jumps out of two high in to neutral it only does it when slowing down in 3rd 5 speed trans
 
Check the wear guides on the shift fork in the T case, mine wore out and caused it to jump into 4 lo. One way to check it is to look at the color of the oil, if it is discolored plan on a rebuild or replacement. I would rebuild it, they aren't that hard to do.

X2 mine would do it at about 70mph. Usually when you had cruise set and come over a little hill. When load was taken off drive train it would come out, and just bout make you crap your pants.
 
Mine did this when first bought truck come to find out t case was burnt up. Buddy's 99 did same thing.
 
It probely need rebuilt it has 300,000 on it I haven't had a problem until it was the fourth truck pull on it and I brook the slip yoke on the transfercase and it started after that
 
A work truck I used to drive would do the same thing, chain was wore out and a tooth was gone on a gear inside.
