24v can't pull itself

Its a 2001 reg cab, stock height, 285 tires. It has intake and exhaust, it gets up and goes pretty good until you hit the 55ish mph, then you can floor it and it winds up, but won't hardly move. It doesn't shift till 3200rpm if the thing would shift at 2700 then it would move pretty good. So the other day I put an Edge ez chip on it. I know its just a mild chip, but that all I want. I just wanted a little more power for passing and a tad better mpg. The chip really helped 0-55mph but then you get to 55mph and it winds up to 3200rpm and will hardly move. Its like the chip doesn't help it after 55mph. Is it a trans problem? Injector pump? fuel problem? No I don't have a fuel pressure gauge on yet.

How many times does it shift, just normal driving? Can you feel it going through all the gears, or is it not going into OD?
