Anyone interested in a custom built intake plate, it's made out of 1/2 steel
I think it will be stronger than aluminum under high boost pressures !
I'm askin $75.00 for it, cheaper than billet ! Just weighs more 7-8 lbs.
But who cares its for a Cummins if we were weight conscience we would have
a Duramax ! Give me a shout if interested .

intake plate

i just bought a billet aluminum one from scheid has anyone had problems to where they need one? i just bought it b/c ill have my head off, its cheap, and i want to start pulling

My friend with his truck blew his with the stock plate 3 times till we found out that it was warped from so much boost !!! The stock plate is so flimsy to handle the stress from the factory,So that is why I made some out of 1/2 steel.
To help anyone else with the same problem on a budget ! 65 + Boost =
popped gasket !

If I was you better keep what you have as not to have any problems !
Put the stock back on and see what happens !!! Thats if you are pushin
some real boost.

the plate will slide UNDER the stock lines while they are still on. You take the bell crank mount off and slide the plate forward between the fan blades and it will come out.

i'll vouge for that...

good to know, hmmm......

i havent blown the gasket out yet, is this a common thing, im running about 55 psi.

i have a 62mm turbo now about to put a 66mm on not looking for any problems rather prevent them while i have it tore down then have to when i blow it. how can you tell its blown? without looking is there any signs

spray soapy water around the edges, start the truck and look for bubbles. or do a pressurized leak test.

I was hoping to get some feed back from everyone how this plate looks as
well as it's purpose ?

theres really nothing to say about it, its a 1/2 steel plate with holes, there wont be any performance gains but will it hold up better yea im sure its steel, but ive seen stockers take over a 100psi with years of constant REAL boost. Its a decent piece but they are all over the place.

some folks were askin for a dual alt bracket to hold a GM type 1-wire if youre lookin to fabricate a product from steel plate.

i got the plate from a2000dodge the plate work great even use the factory bolts thanks for the plate a200dodge.
