Whats the bare minimum needed to run 4k and hold up for a long time. Would we need to balance the crank? We are just wanting to get started cheaply as possible until we get some more money. Wanting to pull in 2.8 class

Its an 01 HO 6-speed

P-pump, Valve Springs, (pushrods wouldnt hurt) Head Studs, Fluidapner plus the Turbo that will flow enough to get you there!

Arn't the HO motors higher compression? Would that come into play with a 2.8 truck?

find you a good clutch, and a cam my help you to. Are you going to be running stock pistons in your rig

i think you gonna find it hard to compete in the 2.8 class with a vp truck. now if you put a ppump on it, then that would be a different story.

you will be fine running 4000 but running the 5000+ you need to compete in the 2.8 class will be a little much if you dont balance. What area are you from? You could have good 2.6 truck if you ppump it.

We are keeping the VP we got the II one that supports 1,000hp at the crank. We want to P-pump it but in this part of the country(central Missouri) not too many people have high hp trucks

It will get a balanced crank in the near future, I'm in central Missouri

:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe: Where you from?

I am from the east coast here in Md, and i was thinking the same thing you are...I know quite a few Mo trucks on this site that would eat a "1000hp VP puller" for lunch

1000hp vp motor.:bang:bang:bang:bang:bang

Ok ok yes fairly close to me there are Phillip and Tony Imhoff with 2 badass trucks and a few other people like Skyler Leeper, Kevin Cole but we most likely wont be pulling with them and yes they would eat any VP truck

Uhh.... Where have you been? 2.6 in MO is VERY strong. Bad_Duvall and 01PPUMP just to name a couple. They only won 3 or 4 NADM pulls and placed somewhere towards the top at Scheids. Ill give you $100 if your truck outruns Hodlers VP at anytime of the year next year. I don't know that in a MO pull have I seen another VP beat him in... Well... Never. Very stiff competition in 2.6 man.
