im a new kid to cummins. i am looking at removing the 24v after a slight build up on another motor or i'm looking buying a 12v for the p pump and swapping it in. i just want to remove most of the electronics as i can.

thanks shane

that what i'm thinking but will it be the same amount of work or be cheaper to just swap in a 12v?

shane

I don't know about cheaper if you have a good running 24v...

the 24v has 341k on it runs ok its just starting to miss fire at idle. i want to remove the vp before i run in to replacing it and before it kill some thing along with it

If it were me I would yank the head off get decked new guides and cleaned up with ppump. Wont be to expensive if you got 12v for some of the parts but in some sense I could see doing motor swap. Either way its alot of work. Its up to you

Well it would still be cheaper to rebuild the 24v and ppump as opposed to buying an entire 12v long block, rebuilding, and rewiring. Especially if u go with the 98 12v wiring harness/pcm. Good luck finding one for a good price.

I would not of done it to mine if my 24v wouldn't of been Fukked.
