24V Vs. CR head characteristics

I'm debating on which style cylinder head to go with for my build. It will be a p-pump engine, and I know some modifications have to be made to get the CR head to clear the pump. At first I though the only way is to cut off the intake and fab up a new one, but after seeing a few other CR head p-pump engines I will probably just stay with the original intake.

My question is what is the flow numbers between both cylinder heads and is the ports different between the 2, or is it just the casted intake on the CR head that makes it flow more?

Also for those that have used a p-pump on a CR head, what kind of modifications did you make to get the pump to clear the factory intake using a 12V timing cover?

My guess is the ports are the same, but I haven't done a direct comparison between a 24v and CR head with both intakes cut off.

In regard to your last question, you can cut a chunk out of the intake plenum and put in a plate from the inside. PM BigDodge - he can fill you in with more details on that.

I would run the VP head and if funding allows hack off the intake.

Intake side of the cr head is cast alot better for flow. The gf's 00', my 01', and spare 99' head all had pressed in seats. All cracked too.

watched them flux it last week, cracked all the way through the seat and inside the port. shop said they wouldn't touch it.

here's a pic of the cr intake side vs the 00' model. I hardly touched the intake side of the cr head after we milled it off.
