what are the differecnes between the 2500 and 3500 on the 12v era trucks?
thanks, jay

Width of the rear axle is different. Almost positive that the front axles are the same. 99.99999%:D

3500 and 2500 manual have Dana 80, 2500 autos have Dana 70.

Pretty sure that the 3500 and 2500 manuals have DHD t cases, and 2500 autos have DLD, wouldn't swear to it though...

I'm pretty sure my 97 2500 has a DHD t-case I was thinking it was an option?

My 97 2500 with overload springs and NV4500 has the DLD x-fer case, so I'm gonna say that the DHD was an option.

My underhood tag is what I used to draw the conclusion.

DHD may have been an option... Sounds like it was part of a package other than the manual tranny. Now I'm wondering...

DHD was an option.. Don't have one on my 98 manual. Overloads were an option. Axles are a little wider on the dually rear. Fronts are the same though with a spacer. 70 on the auto 2500, 80 center with 70 outters on the 2500 manual. And Dana 80 on the dually.

These are the only things I can think of.
