What are the differences between a 271 and a 241 29 spline tcase? Length,spline? I'll be bolting it up to a nv4500. TIA

Here are some good specs:

They are a different length, but if the 271 has a manual hub on it, it will work on a NV4500 or NV5600.

Not sure about the length but low gear is the same.
What do you guys think about running one upside down for a passenger side differential? Just a short use period such as pulling and some racing, hardly ever on street?

I think you need relocate oil picup tube.

We put one in the '89. Relocate the oil pick-up and re-drill two of the mounting studs. You will have to either space the x-member down, or make a new one.
