Looking over the companies that offer the upgrades. The bracket offered shows it is bolt on, and notes on the product say they work on 'most' trucks.

Looking at my truck, the track bar bracket is welded to the frame for the top mount location. Does the bracket produced work around this?

Thanks,

Ray

I installed a Carli track bar on my grandpa's '02. The 2nd to 3rd gen conversion bracket bolted right in place and uses frame bracket as one of the mounting points for the conversion bracket. You'll see what I mean in the installation instructions from Source Automotive... http://sourceautomotive.biz/installationinfo/tbk-install.pdf

I ordered the conversion bracket from George at 8-Lug truck gear. Source Automotive offers the same one. It's a very stout bracket! I also installed a steering box stabilizer at the same time. My grandpa was amazed at how well the steering tightened up!

The bracket provided uses that mount point as one of it's mounting points and is quite solid when done. Worth every penny, I just had mine off today replacing control arms and a bunch of other stuff and it still looked good. Probably 40k or more miles on it since I did the conversion. When you do it, spend the extra few dollars and get the adjustable bar rather than the plain one, you will want to be able to center the front end.

If you don't want to spend the extra $$ on an adjustable one, gimme about a week or two and I'll have a solid one for sale, I'm going to an adjustable one.

Did you buy new control arms or replace the bushings in yours?

I built my own! im extremely pleased with it.... 2 - 7/8" heim joints from ballistic and 1.5"DOM tube worked awesome very adjustable.. and well half the price

Bought new, found a set of DT fab bars on here that were used and were the 1/2 forward models. I run 315's and they no longer rub the fender liner LOL

CPP has a great setup and it is reasonably priced. I have one on my 02 and it is great and the bar is adjustable. After I bolted the conversion bracket on I welded it to the frame as well, just a little overkill to make sure it never flexes. Good luck.
