I have a 96 cab and chasis 2wd. My truck is a 5 speed and had the solid front axle from the factory . I got the front axle from a donor 96 4x4 v10 automatic truck. It bolted right in. Now I have the transfer case from the auto trans. A cummins guy told me that I can use this transfer case as it looks it will bolt up. I heard that I have to change some shaft in the 2wd 5 speed trans, as well as something in the transfer case... any help would be apreciated. I have all of the front end parts and driveshafts to hook up as soon as I can get the transfer case mounted up. thanks for help in advance if you can help

I think just the tail housing/output shaft needs to be changed. Don't quote me, I know not what a 2wd looks like underneath.

Mock it up and see how it fits.

You are going to have to install a different mainshaft and tailshaft housing on the 5 speed. As for the transfer case, you need to get one from a 5 speed truck or you will have to change the input shaft of the transfer case. The transfer case behind an auto tranny has different spline count than the manual tranny.
