I've been wanting to do this for sometime. There were alot more issues than expected, but i'm very happy with the results. I removed all but 2 leafs. The ride is amazing for a swb diesel. VERY SMOOTHE. I've had open diff forever so the dana 80 is awesome(burnout video coming soon):rockwoot:
The brakes feel alot better, having 4 wheel disc now. I'm ordering Caltracs this week.

I'm pretty sure the brakes feel better because there's a load/level proportioning valve that increases rear braking as the rear of the truck gets lower and lower (to compensate for the weight that made it lower)

Thorough details about all of what you had to deal with and do would be very helpful for those considering this!

i like the newer style wheels on the older truck better they just have a good look to them

thanks.

Well Forrest ur right about how the proportioning valve works, but i removed mine so the brake lines would work.

I ordered shorter but bigger(5/8) u-bolts and center leaf bolts from Eaton.(prob other places to get em from too). You need the larger u-bolt plates for the Dana 80. I had to drill them out to fit the larger u-bolts. I removed the proportioning valve, which made it possible to connect the brake line from the axle to the one on the frame. My driveshaft was a one piece-aluminum. I had a steel driveshaft built that was about 1.5" shorter. I'm also going to shave my bumpstops(prob in half) to prevent bottoming out. I'm ordering Caltracs this week, so i'll take some pics and post some info about em.

thanks.

how do you remove the proportioning valve? do yu have any pictures of what it looks like without it on? and do the even have them on the 95's?

un bolt it form the line. pretty simple then make fittings to attach the two lines together... most likely just a double female union.

its pretty simple ;)
